FC 26 Cross-Platform Issues: Bugs, Cheating, and How to Fix Them

Post by abnerRRR » Wed Nov 19, 2025 1:23 am

Recently, while chatting with other FC 26 players in a group, I discovered that many were experiencing issues with cross-platform gameplay. This prompted me to write this article, analyzing common problems players encounter while playing FC 26 and offering some tips for fixing these bugs.

First, let's understand the specifics of FC 26 cross-platform. EA connected players from PlayStation, Xbox, and PC to build a larger player base and reduce matchmaking times. This was a great idea, but the immaturity of this feature led to a series of problems:

Matchmaking Bug: Many FC 26 players reading this article have likely encountered the "Searching for Opponent" loop, a signature bug in FC 26. When players enable the FC 26 cross-platform feature, the matchmaking interface freezes indefinitely, especially in Ultimate Team and Rival modes.

Why does this happen? The Cross-platform feature requires merging multiple server pools together. During this process, if any server malfunctions, the player will never be able to find an opponent.

Solution: Disable FC 26 cross-platform. Yes, you heard right, this is the only way for players to solve this problem. To do this, open the game settings, find the matchmaking icon, and finally click "Cross-play Off."

Unfair Matchmaking Mechanism: Most FC 26 players are also PS and console players. With cross-platform enabled, console players will enjoy higher frame rates and faster input lag, while console users will experience similar input lag. This is the main conflict between the two platforms, manifested primarily in the constant arguments between PS and console players on various social media groups.

This leads to a very frustrating situation: enabling FC 26 cross-platform increases matchmaking speed, but players have to accept lag and stuttering. Disabling FC 26 cross-platform prevents players from finding opponents!

FC 26 cross-platform cheating may occur: Because PC systems are more susceptible to external scripts, some PC players use scripts to help them cheat. Common cheating methods include lag switches, aim macros, and coin-farming bots. This allows them to easily win matches and acquire large amounts of FC 26 Coins. EA's anti-cheat system is a joke; I've lost faith in their anti-cheat measures since playing Apex Legends.

Connection errors and lobby malfunctions:

Players in club and cooperative friendlies frequently see the message "Connection lost to lobby." The main problem lies with EA's extremely unstable servers.

Solutions:

  • Restart the game and re-verify your EA account.

  • Switch matchmaking region to "Auto."

  • Disable cross-platform play (if the problem persists).

These are some of the most common vulnerabilities FC 26 players encounter. The root cause is that the official EA has some of the worst servers and maintenance in the world. If you have other questions, you can join a group to discuss them with other players.

Hopefully, this article has helped you.
